About Us
We first came to Greenlooms Cottage in 1980, and soon realised we had no intention of moving anywhere anytime soon. Over the years we’ve done quite a lot of restoration and tidying up, but we’ve tried to keep the character of Greenlooms Cottage intact.
We both feel that Greenlooms Cottage isn’t complete without its complement of guests. You all bring life to the place, and we love having you here. Isn’t that the point of a B&B? – well, we think it is.
This is partly why we offer guests the option of supper – we enjoy sharing our dinner with you, which is what it is. We don’t want to be a restaurant – we eat with you around the big kitchen table.
We like to chat to you and get to know you in the short time that you will be with us, but we won’t be intrusive – if you want peace and quiet, that's easy to find at Greenlooms.
We’ve both done lots of different things in our lives – potting, mountaineering, discussing Beat poetry with Ginsberg and Ferlinghetti, and exploring foreign lands count amongst them – so we have some stories to tell. But most of all we like hearing your stories. Everyone that crosses our threshold brings something new to Greenlooms Cottage.
