There are large malls in Chester city centre and at Cheshire Oaks (a designer outlet just outside the city), but if you want to shop in style then Chester Rows are the place to go – galleried boutique shops on the four streets emanating from Chester Cross in the centre of the city.
They are mediaeval in origin, and debate about their origin continues unabated - but whether they were built over fireproof undercrofts or on top of Roman rubble, they make an excellent place to shop!
