Peter and Deborah Newman have lived in the cottage for 30 years and have quietly restored the buildings and gardens over that time. The environment is, therefore, beautiful, tranquil and comfortable.

The food is thoughtfully and stylishly created and the welcome friendly and warm from two people who are relaxed, open minded and, some say, mildly eccentric, but in a very happy way.

You are part of the family, so meals are shared and you can be assured of lively and stimulating conversation with two colourful and amusing raconteurs. Children and dogs are welcome, provided they behave! The same goes for adults – well almost! Peter and Deborah are too modest to admit this, but it is all borne out by the many happy people who visit regularly from home and abroad.

Here is one from Joe who came from Minnesota "I just luurve that quaint old place and sharing porridge with Peter on a sunny morning…reciting Homer and getting to grips with Kerouac early on in the day is just the start you need."

And again from the states, Janell from North Bend planning a return visit "– would seriously doubt that you might remember me from the hordes of tourists who have stayed with you at your B&B. But my husband and I had occasion to stay with you for one night in October. We remember it as one of our fondest memories of our trip. We look at our pictures and recall the hot water bottle in our bed, the fresh flowers on the window sill, but we most remember our wonderful visit with you. Your son was a fine young boy who was learning to ride his bike, and he was good enough to pose for my camera."
